Standard First Aid & CPR
Duration: 14–16 hours. Flexible scheduling options.
Comprehensive two-day course offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home. Includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. Meets federal and a variety of provincial/territorial regulations for Standard First Aid and CPR. Exceeds competitors’ standards by including injury prevention content, CPR and AED.
Marine Basic First Aid
Duration: 16 hours. Flexible scheduling options.
Basic two-day course offering an overview of first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for the marine/fishing industry. Course meets the requirements of Transport Canada outlined in Transport Publication (TP) 13008. Designed for any person who wants to obtain a rating certificate, endorsement, or a Master or Chief Mate limited certification, and for those providing first aid on board a vessel engaged on a near-coastal voyage, class 2, or on a vessel on sheltered waters.
Babysitting
The Babysitting Course, refreshed and revised, now has a greater emphasis on First Aid skills. The Canadian Red Cross Babysitting course covers everything from managing difficult behaviors to essential content on leadership and professional conduct as a babysitter. Babysitting promises to deepen and enhance the responsibility that older youth feel when caring for younger children. This updated curriculum, complete with new science, also provides improved learning when it comes to giving the appropriate care in the event of an emergency.

Course Content:
Check, Call, Care (includes phoning EMS/911), glove removal, recovery position, conscious choking (adult/child/baby/alone), CPR (baby/child), illness, asthma (includes use of inhaler and spacer), anaphylaxis (includes use of EpiPen), poisoning, insect stings, wound care (i.e. minor cuts and scrapes, splinters, nosebleeds, bumps and bruises, life-threatening bleeding, burns), head, neck and back injuries, broken bones, seizures
CPR/AED
Duration: Level A: 4 hours, Level C: 5 hours, Level HCP: 6 hours
Courses on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) provide the skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking for adults, children, and babies depending on the level of CPR chosen. All include training in the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). Courses offer training suitable for workplace or general interest. Includes the latest CPR guidelines.
Stay Safe
The Stay Safe Course Offers basic first aid and safety skills for youth 9-13 years old.
Participants learn about being safe when they are without the direct supervision of a parent, guardian, or trusted adult, both at home and in their communities.
Prerequisites:
Minimum 9 years of age (or completion of Grade 3) up to age 13

The importance of setting and following safety rules when on your own How to stay safe at home and within the community How to prepare for, recognize and respond to unexpected situations (e.g., inclement weather, strangers, and unanticipated visits)

Workplace Emergency First Aid
BC Worksafe Emergency First Aid (WEFA): Recognized by WorkSafe BC as Level 1. Includes CPR & AED Certificate valid for 3 years.

Course Content: Roles and Responsibilities of First Aid Attendants, Legal and ethical obligations to yourself, your employer and your co-workers
Priority Action Approach: How to safely assess and approach an emergency; and look for life threatening injuries
Lacerations: Assessment, care and follow-up
First Aid Records: Completion and record keeping
Follow Up Care: General guidelines and responsibilities for follow-up care
Back Injuries: Assessment and treatment options
Eye Injuries: Assessment and treatment options
Burns: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree burns caused by chemicals, heat or electricity
Material Safety Data Sheets: Identification of hazardous materials in the workplace
Respiratory and Circulatory System: Anatomy and function
Airway Obstructions: Conscious and unconscious choking
Respiratory / Cardiac Arrest: CPR and AED for Adults (level “A”)
Shock and Bleeding: Management of physiological shock, and deadly bleeding
Medical Conditions: Management of Asthma, Diabetes and Seizures
As far as the Standard Workplace Emergency First Aid course its all of the above plus the Standard First Aid component. They come out with both the WEFA certification as well as the Standard First Aid Certificate.
Oxygen Administration
Duration: 6 hours
This course teaches how to operate various oxygen devices as well as how to respond and treat respiratory emergencies. The course is for those who are required to use oxygen in the workplace including lifeguards, emergency medical services (EMS) professionals, etc.
